This Privacy Policy explains how Honeydew Hire collects, uses, holds, discloses and protects personal information. Honeydew Hire is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
In this Privacy Policy, “Honeydew Hire”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Amelia Malone trading as Honeydew Hire (ABN 32 492 573 448), of Hunter Valley, New South Wales 2325. “You” and “your” means the individual whose personal information we collect or hold.
By providing personal information to Honeydew Hire, by using our website at www.honeydewhire.com.au, or by engaging Honeydew Hire's services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to Honeydew Hire collecting, holding, using and disclosing your personal information in accordance with it.
1. What is personal information
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether it is recorded in a material form or not.
Sensitive information is a sub-category of personal information that includes information about an individual's health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal record. Honeydew Hire does not generally collect sensitive information. Where sensitive information is collected, Honeydew Hire will only do so with your consent or as otherwise permitted by the Privacy Act.
2. Information we collect
Honeydew Hire collects personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide its services, respond to enquiries, manage Bookings, communicate with clients and operate its business. The personal information collected may include:
your name;
your contact details, including email address, phone number and postal or delivery address;
your business name and ABN (if applicable);
Event details, including Event Date, venue, type of event and Hire Items requested;
payment-related information, including bank account details, payment confirmations and invoice records (Honeydew Hire does not store credit card numbers - payments are processed through third-party payment platforms);
communications between you and Honeydew Hire, including emails, messages, enquiry form submissions and direct messages received through any social media platform operated by Honeydew Hire from time to time (including Instagram and TikTok);
marketing preferences, including whether you have subscribed to or unsubscribed from any marketing communications;
information collected automatically when you visit our website (described in clause 5); and
any other information you choose to provide to Honeydew Hire.
Honeydew Hire collects personal information directly from you wherever practicable. This may occur when you submit an enquiry form, request a quote, accept a Proposal, make a Booking, communicate with Honeydew Hire by email, phone or social media, subscribe to marketing communications, or otherwise interact with Honeydew Hire.
In some circumstances, Honeydew Hire may collect personal information about you from third parties, including from a person who has engaged Honeydew Hire on your behalf (for example, an event planner or stylist), or from Sub-Suppliers, contractors or referrers.
3. How we use personal information
Honeydew Hire uses personal information for the primary purpose for which it was collected, including:
responding to enquiries and providing quotes;
preparing, issuing and managing Proposals and Bookings;
delivering, collecting and otherwise providing the Services;
processing payments and managing accounts receivable;
communicating with you in relation to your enquiry, Booking, Event or account;
complying with legal, regulatory, tax and accounting obligations;
resolving complaints and disputes;
operating, maintaining and improving Honeydew Hire's business, website and services; and
for any other purpose with your consent or as permitted by law.
Honeydew Hire may also use your personal information for direct marketing purposes, including to send you newsletters, promotional offers, announcements, new product or service information and event updates. Honeydew Hire will only send you marketing communications where you have provided your contact details and not opted out, or where Honeydew Hire is otherwise permitted to do so by law.
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, by replying to any marketing communication with a request to be removed, or by emailing info@honeydewhire.com.au. Opting out of marketing does not affect Honeydew Hire's ability to send you transactional communications in relation to an active Booking or enquiry.
4. Disclosure of personal information
Honeydew Hire may disclose your personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary to provide the Services or operate its business. These third parties may include:
Sub-Suppliers and cross-hire suppliers from whom Honeydew Hire sources Hire Items;
subcontractors, including drivers, couriers and delivery contractors;
payment platform and payment gateway providers;
accounting, bookkeeping and tax service providers;
information technology, hosting, customer relationship management, email marketing, scheduling, file storage and cloud software providers;
legal, insurance and other professional advisers;
government authorities, regulators, law enforcement bodies or courts where required or permitted by law; and
any other person to whom you have consented to disclosure.
Honeydew Hire does not sell, rent or trade personal information.
Some of Honeydew Hire's third-party service providers may be located outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions where global software and cloud platforms operate. Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, Honeydew Hire will take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles or equivalent obligations under applicable data protection laws.
5. Website, cookies and online tracking
When you visit www.honeydewhire.com.au, Honeydew Hire and its third-party service providers may automatically collect certain information about your visit, including:
your IP address and approximate geographic location;
the type of device, browser and operating system you are using;
the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit and the duration of your visit;
the website you came from and the website you go to next; and
other technical information generated automatically by your browser.
Honeydew Hire and its third-party providers may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, tags and similar tracking technologies to collect this information. Cookies are small data files placed on your device that allow a website to recognise your browser. Honeydew Hire may use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device until they expire or are deleted).
Honeydew Hire may use third-party analytics, advertising and tracking services, including services such as Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixels, to understand how visitors use the website, measure the performance of marketing campaigns and deliver targeted advertising. 6. Use of artificial intelligence
Honeydew Hire may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to assist with administrative tasks, including drafting communications, preparing mood boards and proposals, scheduling, transcription, summarisation and other internal business processes.
Where Honeydew Hire uses AI tools, personal information may be processed by or shared with third-party AI service providers. Honeydew Hire takes reasonable steps to use reputable AI tools that handle data securely and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Honeydew Hire does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects in relation to clients. All Bookings, Proposals and material communications are reviewed by Honeydew Hire before being acted upon.
7. Storage and security
Honeydew Hire stores personal information electronically using reputable cloud-based service providers and, in some cases, in physical form. Honeydew Hire takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including by using password-protected systems, secure file storage, access controls and confidentiality obligations on personnel and contractors.
No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While Honeydew Hire takes reasonable steps to protect personal information, it cannot guarantee absolute security.
Honeydew Hire will retain personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce its agreements. When personal information is no longer required, Honeydew Hire will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information Honeydew Hire holds about you, and you may request that Honeydew Hire correct any personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
To make a request, please contact Honeydew Hire using the details in clause 10. Honeydew Hire will respond to your request within a reasonable period and in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Honeydew Hire may refuse a request in limited circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act, including where giving access would be unlawful, would unreasonably impact the privacy of others, or where the information relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings. If Honeydew Hire refuses a request, it will give you written reasons for the refusal and information about how to complain.
9. Complaints
If you believe Honeydew Hire has breached this Privacy Policy, the Privacy Act or the Australian Privacy Principles, you may make a complaint by contacting Honeydew Hire using the details in clause 10. Please provide as much detail as possible about the matter, including the circumstances of the alleged breach and any supporting documents.
Honeydew Hire will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within a reasonable period and will investigate and respond to your complaint within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with Honeydew Hire's response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

Your continued use of the Honeydew Hire website or services after any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the amended Privacy Policy.
